  • Paradise Business Spotlight: Each week we’ll spotlight a business in Paradise to encourage local shopping and support economic recovery in Paradise – and maybe discover a business you’ve never heard of before. This week they are focusing on Sunshine Assisted Living. For over 35 years, Sunshine Assisted Living has been a family-run residential facility for seniors. Trained professionals attend to everyone’s needs in a country setting with a relaxed family atmosphere and old-fashioned home cooking. Each of the facilities has a professional hairdresser, manicurist and activity coordinator. Throughout the year there are special events, holiday parties and lots of pampering.

  • Insurance Recovery for Campfire Debris Removal Those who participated in the government-sponsored debris removal program for the 2018 campfire may have recently received a letter detailing the full cost of the cleanup. For those who had insurance at the time of the fire, Butte County Camp Fire Insurance Recovery Manager, Tetra Tech, will work with homeowners and insurance companies to help determine the amount to be paid to the county for cleaning. For owners who have already received insurance proceeds from their insurer related to debris removal, Tetra Tech will work with them to identify any out-of-pocket costs incurred by owners and any payments that may be required to be made to the county. Owners will not be responsible for any costs outside of their insurance policy’s available insurance coverage.

  • Becky Shaw at Theater on the Ridge, Now – March 13
    Catch the hilarious adult comedy, Becky Shaw, at the Theater on the Ridge from March 3-13. Written by Gina Gionfriddo and directed by Marina Kalani, “a newlywed couple mend two friends with romantic issues: the wife’s best friend, meets the husband of the sexy and weird new co-worker. When an evening meant to bring happiness takes a dark turn, crisis and comedy ensue in this wickedly funny play. Sessions are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. General admission is $14 and reserved seating is $18.

  • 12-point program “Life Recovery Journey”, Wednesday It is meant to bring hope and healing to lives in need. This program covers injuries, habits, blockages and addictions. This confidential and shameless gathering takes place at Our Savior Lutheran Church from 6:30-8:30 p.m. every Wednesday.

  • California State University, Sacramento – Office of Water Programs Virtual Meeting, Thursday Paradise Irrigation District invites community members to attend an online meeting on March 10 hosted by California State University, Sacramento – Office of Water Programs. The 6-8 p.m. meeting can be joined online via Zoom, registration is required. The purpose of the meeting is to update community members on the Town of Paradise’s draft Options Study Report and solicit community feedback.

  • Paradise Friends of the Library Book Sale, March 19 The Paradise Friends of the Library book sale runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 19. Find a wide variety of books for sale in the Library’s Community Room at 5922 Clark Rd. All proceeds benefit the Paradise Public Library.

  • Free Green Waste Disposal for Butte County Residents, March 19-27 For Butte County residents living in the Urban Wilderness Interface, there are designated days to dispose of green waste free of charge. On March 19 and 27, bring your green waste to the Neal Road Recycling and Waste Facility in Paradise from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Home Ownership Fair, March 26 Enjoy a free BBQ at the Homebuyers Show on March 26 from 1-4 p.m. The show is held at RRA Builders at 5923 Clark Road Suite A. Check out manufactured homes ranging from $310,000 to $320,000 and stick-built homes ranging from $400,000 to $425,000. Buyers can choose paint colors and flooring options. There are also resources such as free mortgage prequalification and information on down payment assistance.

  • Paradise Symphony Orchestra Spring Concert, March 27 The Paradise Symphony Orchestra’s spring concert entitled “Czech the Bachs” will take place on March 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. Taking place at the Paradise Performing Arts Center, the show features piano virtuoso Melissa Brown performing Bach’s “Concerto in D Minor, Movement No. 1”. .” In addition, Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto No. 3” will be performed in memory of former Orchestra member Sheila Dixon. Tickets are $15 for students and seniors 55 and older and $20 for adults. Tickets are available online and at the door.

  • Official opening of Paradise Eagles Lodge, March 31 Discover the beautiful and new Paradise Eagles Lodge during the grand opening! The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 31. The facility is located at 9079 Skyway, Paradise.

  • Paradise Irrigation District Update The district shared some of the milestones achieved over the past three years. The community’s water supply system faced many challenges as a result of the fire, including the destruction of the district’s old water metering system, water quality issues in secondary property connections and a drastic decrease in the number of active customers. The district is moving forward and continuing to provide clean and safe water to the community. Actual status:

  • Assembly Bill 1249 Update The Paradise Ridge Chamber of Commerce has announced its support for AB-1249. The bill introduced by Congressman James Gallagher would clarify California’s tax code to exclude all types of claimants from paying state taxes on compensation for damages received from PG&E’s “Fire Victims Trust.” This would help ensure that fire victims receive fair compensation for economic and non-economic damage caused by fires.

  • Home Builders Resource Connection Online Planning Room The Rebuild Paradise Foundation (RPF) and Valley Contractors Exchange (VCE) have partnered to launch the Home Builders Resource Connection online planning room. It’s a free tool meant to connect the dots between those looking to rebuild after the devastating fires that Butte County experienced in 2018 and 2020 and the contractors who can do the job.
